Hex Bolts Product Range

The right hex bolt is defined by its diameter, thread pitch, length, thread length, material grade and finish. Getting each of these right matters more than the head shape alone.

Full thread or half thread?

A fully threaded hex bolt carries thread along the whole shank, which suits tapped holes and general fastening where the bolt length varies. A half-thread (partially threaded) hex bolt has a plain shank that sits in the joint, which is preferred where shear loads act across the joint or where alignment matters.

Hex head or square head?

Square-head bolts give a larger bearing surface and are easy to hold with a spanner, which is why they remain common in structural, timber and heavy-equipment work. We offer them in mild steel (MS square hex bolt) and stainless steel (SS square hex bolt).

Material and grade

• Mild steel (MS hex bolt) for general fabrication and machinery.
• High-tensile grades such as property class 10.9 where higher clamp load is required.
• Stainless steel for corrosion resistance in wet, marine and process environments.

What to send for a quotation

Diameter and pitch, length and thread length, material and property class, finish, applicable standard (for example DIN or IS), quantity and whether matching nuts and washers are required.
